The popular Scarecrows in the Gardens adds a festive note to the Arboretum’s autumn displays on the Dahlberg Terrace and Scarecrow Hill. Check out the artistry of the experts from Bachman’s, Arboretum staff and members of the community.

It's time to vote for your favorite 2022 Scarecrow in the Garden! 

Winners receive a trophy and bragging rights for their creativity for an entire year. Please note that there are two categories to vote for; select your favorite in each category.

Category one is for the best Bachman's created scarecrow. Each of Bachman's six local stores have created a scarecrow to delight and inspire Arboretum visitor to create their own fun scarecrows. Five of these fantastic scarecrows are haunting the Dahlberg Terrace and one is located at the center island in front of the Oswald Visitor Center. 

Category two is comprised of Arboretum members, visitors and Arb staff. These scarecrows are fun and creative and are located mostly on the Scarecrow Hill but you can find a few lurking around the Learning Center, Farm at the Arb and even close to the Oswald Visitor Center.
