AppleHouse

Just 1.5 miles west of the main Arboretum entrance on Highway 5, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum AppleHouse is a seasonal destination, featuring Minnesota-grown apples, including varieties grown at the Arboretum’s Horticultural Research Center nearby. 

Many of the University of Minnesota’s 29 introduced apple varieties are for sale at the AppleHouse, along with gourmet packaged foods, frozen apple pies, pastries, packaged gourmet goodies, gifts and — in the fall — pumpkins, squash and gourds also grown at the Arboretum. While supplies last, the AppleHouse also offers delicious meats and ice cream from the University of Minnesota College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.  

In early November, the AppleHouse continues to sell late-season apples and squash and turns into a Holiday Boutique (opening Nov. 6) with holiday gifts and treats. The AppleHouse then closes for the season on Dec. 20. 

Visitors don’t need a reservation or a membership to visit the AppleHouse, and all proceeds from the store support Arboretum research and general operations.
