Outdoor Survival Adventure (Morning)

Sharpen your survival skills "tool kit" as you tackle challenges in the Arboretum’s great outdoors. Plunge into hands-on exploration, creation, and adventure while developing lifelong skills along the way!

  • Master the Elements: Learn the ancient art of fire-building using flint and steel, and use your success to prepare food outdoors.
  • Navigate Like a Pro: Complete an engaging orienteering treasure hunt using a map and compass to test your navigation skills.
  • Gear Up: Craft essential takeaway items, including your own custom survival wristband and all-weather firestarters.
  • Identify Nature's Resources: Discover the secrets of the forest by learning to identify key wild plants.

Eco-Trek (Afternoon)

Bring your spirit of adventure and teamwork as we use hiking and biking treks to connect with the natural world throughout the Arboretum and beyond:

  • Master survival skills by building shelters, finding clean water, starting a campfire, and crafting useful camp gear.
  • Take on team challenges with exciting adventure games and mock survival scenarios that put your skills to the test.
  • Hit the trail along the newly connected Arboretum bike path and discover nearby parks filled with nature and exploration opportunities.

Requirements for participation: All campers must be able to bike 8 miles to be eligible, and will need to bring a properly functioning bike and helmet on one or more of the days (registrants will be contacted prior to camp with the date of “bring your bike and helmet” day)
