Thank you for your interest in classes and programs at the Arboretum! The following information provides additional details on cancellations, waitlists, education staff and more. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Adult Classes & Programs
Cancel for a refund with minimum 2 weeks advance notice.
You may cancel a class and receive a partial refund if we are contacted at least 2 weeks prior to the class {or first class if part of a series}. Please call or email the Education Department to cancel your class and we will process your refund less a $5 per person cancellation fee.
Transfer to a different student
You may transfer your registration to an alternate person if you cannot attend. All transfers can be done by calling the Education Department at 612-301-1210 or email at [email protected]. There is no fee to transfer the registration at any time.
Exchange to a different program with minimum 2 weeks advance notice
You may exchange the value you paid for a different class or classes of equal or greater value 2 weeks prior to the first class. All exchanges can be done by calling the Education Department at 612-301-1210 or email at [email protected].
No refunds with less than 2 weeks advance notice
Cancellations made within 2 weeks of the class cannot be refunded or exchanged to a different class (however they can be transferred to another person to attend in your place).
If the Arboretum cancels a program
In the event that the Arboretum must cancel a class, you will be notified by phone and/or email, and you will receive a full refund.
Youth Summer Day Camps
Cancel for refund with minimum 30 days advance notice.
Refunds less a $25 (half-day camps) or $50 (full-day camps) cancellation fee will be given for those canceling 30 days or more before the start of camp.
Transfer to a different student
You may transfer your registration to an alternate person if you cannot attend. All transfers can be done by calling the Education Department at 612-301-1210 or email at [email protected]. There is no fee to transfer the registration.
Exchanges to a different camp with minimum 30 days advance notice
Exchanges to an available program of equal value are permitted 30 days or more before the start of camp. No refunds or exchanges will be given to those who withdraw less than 30 days prior to the start date.
No refunds with less than 30 days advance notice
No refunds or exchanges will be given to those who withdraw less than 30 days prior to start date. Last-minute withdrawal from a program due to illness or injury will be handled on a case by case basis, contact the Education Office for options.

Programs are held rain or shine. In extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to cancel programs for your safety. You will not be charged a cancellation fee under these circumstances.
Final group number
Final adjustment count for number of students and all field trip fees are due at least 30 days in advance.

Class Waitlist
The best chance of being enrolled in a sold out class is to add your name to the waitlist. Click the waitlist link above or link next to the specific class and complete the form. There is no obligation to register if a spot opens. If the waitlist shows enough demand, additional sessions may be added.
