$175 member/$195 non-member, includes Arboretum admission and project supplies

 *HALF-DAY camp sessions are not available as a part of a full day option, and piecing camps together is not recommended. Staff will not be available for lunch hour care or to provide transportation between camp locations.

Program location: Margot Picnic Shelter A (across from Learning Center)

Sharpen your survival skills "tool kit" as you tackle challenges in the Arboretum’s great outdoors. Plunge into hands-on exploration, creation, and adventure while developing lifelong skills along the way!

  • Master the Elements: Learn the ancient art of fire-building using flint and steel, and use your success to prepare food outdoors.
  • Navigate Like a Pro: Complete an engaging orienteering treasure hunt using a map and compass to test your navigation skills.
  • Gear Up: Craft essential takeaway items, including your own custom survival wristband and all-weather firestarters.
  • Identify Nature's Resources: Discover the secrets of the forest by learning to identify key wild plants.

Arboretum entry instructions

Print and complete the Day Camp Gate Pass form that will be sent to you by email from the Camp Coordinator before camp begins. Show your completed form to the gate attendant to receive limited 15-minute admission for Day Camp drop-off and pick-up only. If you intend to stay at the Arboretum on the same day as your child’s Day Camp for longer than 15 minutes, advance tickets are recommended to ensure your admission to the Arboretum and should be presented to the gate attendant. Make reservations to visit.
