Pea Pods for Preschoolers Pop Up Day: Good Morning, Dear Earth! (Ages 3-5 with an Adult)

Celebrate Earth Day today by learning what we can do to protect our planet. How can we take care of the plants, the animals and each other? The letter of the day is R! Let’s practice REDUCING, REUSING and RECYCLING. Protect the plants in the greenhouse by holding and releasing a real ladybug Today’s activities include: a puppet show, a chive-green snack and more. Help the Minnesota bees, bugs and birds with a native flower planting project. Get outside in the Pea Pods garden beds to plant veggies that like the cool spring air. Instill a caring concern for nature within your child and leave knowing that we are part of the Earth and that we are all connected.

Here are a few things to note:

• This program is run open house style, with a storytime and self-directed activities guided by staff and volunteers.
• This is an adult with child program. Adults attend and participate in activities with their child. The program is designed for ages 5 and younger.
• Siblings younger than 3 who participate in projects must be registered at the regular rate.
• April will be primarily outdoors, with indoor options.
• Please dress for outdoor activities: layers in the winter (snow pants, hat, mittens) and rain gear in the spring (puddle boots, raincoat).
