Discover the joy of blending art and nature in this guided experience designed to spark creativity and inspiration, led by Sophia Martin, local community artist and instructor. Over the course of five engaging stops, you'll explore different artistic approaches while connecting deeply with the Arboretum's beauty. All levels of experience are welcome—embrace the process and let nature inspire you!
Five engaging stops include:
- Introduction: Set the stage for your creative journey.
- Still Life Sketching: Capture the essence of nature’s details.
- Blind Drawing: Embrace spontaneity and let your instincts guide you.
- Choice & Freedom Sketching: Express yourself with complete creative freedom.
- Writing & Reflection: Reflect on your experience and the connection between art and nature.
This workshop emphasizes the joy of the creative process while introducing techniques to nurture a lifelong artistic skill.
Supplies: Each participant will receive their own sketchbook to fill with personal pencil drawing artwork, inspired by the Arboretum's vibrant grounds.
Instructor:
Sophia Martin is a local artist & community art instructor in Chanhassen. She works and teaches with charcoal and acrylics. Sophia loves building our community with creativity and embracing our beautiful area overall.
Main Entry instructions:
You will receive a bar-code ticket for entry to the Arboretum in your email purchase confirmation. Your ticket is valid for entry on the day of your class. Present your ticket to the gate attendant as you enter the Arboretum. You may stay at the Arboretum after class as long as you want during our operating hours.
