The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has more than 1,200 acres of beautiful gardens and plant collections, nature-inspired exhibits, innovative education and events, and miles of trails to explore. As a direct connection to nature, the Arboretum is a valued community resource and a top attraction in the Twin Cities. 

Being a non-profit organization, the Arboretum is committed to sharing institutional information with the public, including visitors, members and other constituents who support the Arboretum's mission. The Arboretum is also part of the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) at the University of Minnesota and is located approximately 30 miles west of the Twin Cities Campus just west of the City of Chanhassen.

Short-Term Temporary and Casual Positions

  • Custodial Assistant 67-Day Temporary Casual - This position is responsible for assisting the B&G team with cleaning the Arboretum buildings and facilities and providing event setup and take down of tables, chairs and equipment for group room rentals during the afternoon, evening and weekend hours. Hours will vary from 14-20 per week and can run late into the evening. This position will respond quickly to a wide variety of guest service, infrastructure and event related issues including A/V problems, spills, requests for furniture, unloading vehicles and related issues.  This is primarily a weekend position but could include weekdays. Team Members will work as scheduled to ensure proper set ups and AV trouble shooting. This position requires attention to detail, and ability to follow direction quickly & efficiently.

 

  • Winter Lights Assistant - This position is temporary/casual assisting Events Staff to install lights for the Winter Lights display. Duties include, but are not limited to, fastening lights to fences, bulidngs, and other outdoor services; may involve climbing a ladder; and will require standing for long periods of time.
