Fall at the Arboretum

Experience the beautiful colors of fall! 

The brilliant fall colors are starting to emerge around the Arboretum. Check out Garden Highlights, updated weekly, to see what's blooming on the grounds and the best spots to see the fall color. Some of our favorites include the walk to the Farm, the Sensory Garden and Wood Duck Pond.

Top 10 Fall Activities

  1. Hit the trails! With over 12 miles of trails, there is no better way to explore the spectrum of fall color.  
  2. Visit the Farm at the Arb where you will find the Bee Center, giant pumpkins, apple trees and grape vines growing, along with Farmer Bob's not so big Corn Maze!
  3. Check out a Explorer Pack from the Membership Desk.
  4. Learn something new and register for a unique fall class.
  5. Shop for seasonal goodies at the Gift & Garden Store and the AppleHouse.
  6. Take a delicious break with a snack or meal at Rootstock.
  7. Visit Discovery Booths every Saturday for free, hands-on activities for the whole family. 
  8. Stop by the Andersen Horticultural Library for books and artifacts for all ages. Catch StoryTime at 10:30 every Thursday.
  9. Stop in the Reedy or Cafe Galleries to see local art on display.
  10. Walk the Dakota Sacred Hoop Walk to experience Dakota history and culture among the fall colors.

Shop for a wide range of apple varieties and seasonal products at the AppleHouse! Tuesday-Sunday visitors can also enjoy fresh donuts, coffee and cider from North Star Donuts open through Oct. 31. 

Beginning on Nov. 6, the AppleHouse will be transformed into a Holiday Boutique. We will still offer a variety of fresh apples and gourmet foods items along with a wide range of gift items and holiday decor.
