Bio Blitz! (Morning)

The hunt is on! Venture through grasses, hike through forests, and wade into the wetlands as you join in the search for the elusive plants and animals of the Arboretum. We will leave no stone unturned while we create a “snapshot” of the Arb’s boggling biodiversity.  How many living things will you find??

  • Use Arb-provided cameras to capture and document your findings through photography.
  • Utilize scientific tools to track and identify species that slither, fly, crawl, and sprout.
  • Enjoy biodiversity games, and obstacle courses.
  • Combine your photos and findings to create your own personal Bio Blitz field guide.

Eco Spy (Afternoon)

** TOP SECRET ** New recruits needed for Eco Spy Academy training. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to work undercover to develop skills of stealth, awareness and survival. The natural world will be the setting for experiments and investigations in chromatography, forensics and code-breaking.

  • Receive top-secret instruction and a secret agent name.
  • Craft a sneaky hiding spot for spy gear.
  • Train as a garden detective and solve sensory mysteries.

Team up with other secret agents to hunt for clues that will reveal some of the Arboretum’s hidden wonders!
