Feb. 1-6 | Amber Tritabaugh of the Haiku Flower Studio

Headshot of Amber with pink flowers

Amber is the artist behind Haiku Flower Studio, a fresh floral design venture blending elements of nature, still life, sculpture and Japanese aesthetics. Haiku Flower Studio’s mission is to design “artful flowers for the modern eye," creating memorable floral experiences that resonate deeply with clients.

With extensive training at The Atelier and the Koehler and Dramm Institute of Floristry, Amber combines her background as a professional florist and fine artist to craft striking, artful arrangements with notes of seasonality. Amber’s exploration of ikebana — the Japanese art of seasonal flower arrangement — has influenced her design philosophy, leading her to create pieces that are not only visually striking but also thoughtfully composed. Amber's passion for floristry extends beyond her studio; she is a five-time exhibitor at the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s Art in Bloom exhibit, marking her commitment to artistry and innovation. She has also won the People’s Choice award at the Minnesota Professional Designer of the Year competition and been named a Top Ten Designer.

In addition to artistic pursuits, Amber speaks Russian and is currently learning Japanese, finding fascinating parallels between the structure of language and the composition of floral design and fine art. Outside of floristry, Amber enjoys spending time with family, dogs, nature, and is always learning something new.

Jeanina standing next to large floral display

I am a faith-filled wife and proud mom to an active pre-teen daughter, who is my biggest cheerleader. Creativity has always been my passion, and in 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I took a leap of faith and founded NinaBella Flowers & Design. Since then, I’ve never looked back.

Despite the uncertainty of those early days, I stayed committed to my craft and graduated from the Koehler and Dramm Institute of Floristry in 2021. My love for flowers and design is matched only by my desire to keep learning, and I continue to expand my expertise through workshops and classes locally and across the U.S.

Whether designing for weddings, special events, or teaching floral workshops, the joy of creating with flowers and inspiring others is at the heart of everything I do.

It has been an honor to participate in the Minnesota State Floral Association's Designer of the Year competition since 2021, and I’m also proud to be a part of Art in Bloom at the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts. I’m thrilled to add the Arboretum’s Spring Flower Show to this year’s highlights!

March 14-16 | Lani Massengale of Candlelight Floral & Gifts

Headshot of Lani

I'm a 34-year-old mother of two, and I've always been passionate about art and creativity. After seven years of hard work, I never imagined becoming the lead designer at Candlelight Floral & Gifts, working for one of my greatest friends and doing what I love the most — being creative! Lesa took a chance on me and helped me hone my skills over time, sending me to workshops to learn new techniques and encouraging me to step outside my comfort zone to become the floral designer I am today. When I'm not at the shop creating pieces, I'm often spending time with my family — whether on the baseball fields in the summer or traveling across the country on another adventure. There is never a dull moment as a mom of boys.
