Bud Break 2022

People running for fun

Welcome spring with a 5k run/walk through the Arboretum’s gardens and grounds.

Bud Break 2022 returns to the Farm at the Arb with a variety of options sure to please every runner and walker:

Want to compete? The timed race is for you. Raceberry Jam will be timing runners at 8:30 a.m. Race course starts and ends at The Farm at the Arb and runs along the Eastern Drive to Three-Mile Drive, cuts through the grounds on Three-Mile Walk and back to the Farm on the Eastern Drive.

Just want some exercise in nature? The non-timed race is for you. This course starts on the new paved walking path from the Farm at the Arb, circles the Three-Mile Walk and returns to the Farm at the Arb. This course can be completed anytime between 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Want to run on your own route? The virtual Bud Break is for you. Support the Arb, get a race t-shirt and find your own 5k route.

The popular Kids 1K run is also back this year. Children can run four laps around the event lawns as their family and friends cheer them on. The kids run includes t-shirts.

The Bud Break is an important fundraiser for the Arboretum and all proceeds from the race are used for grounds and garden upkeep.
