Welcome to the 56th annual Arboretum Plant Sale happening on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11, at the Farm at the Arb!

 
Shop for plants selected by Minnesota Landscape Arboretum horticultural experts at this annual sale featuring a fabulous selection of annuals, perennials, fruits, vegetables, herbs, lilies, roses, hostas, Minnesota natives, trees and several varieties of U of M-introduced apple and fruit trees, grapes, azaleas and shrubs. Ticket holders will enter at the Farm at the Arb.
 
New features this year include a category of Zone 5 plants for the “Adventurous Gardener;” plants for rock garden; expanded selection of U of M introductions; peonies from multiple vendors; and a new Minnesota grower of hardy mums.

Tickets are now on sale for members and will go on sale for non-members on April 1

Admission is free, but shoppers need to make a reservation. Choose early time slots for the best selection and availability of plants. Separate tickets are required to visit the Arboretum during this Mother’s Day weekend event. Peter C. Moe Drive to the Farm at the Arb will be closed during the sale.

Shade Perennials

More than 150 varieties with larger selections of ajuga, astilbe, heuchera and ferns.

Sun Perennials

More than 250 varieties with larger selections of asters, clematis, daylilies, echinacea, iris, monarda, phlox, stonecrop, sempervivum and many rock garden plants.

Annuals

More than 225 varieties including grasses, coleus, petunias and zinnias.

Ornamental Grasses

More than 30 options, primarily perennials, including stunning cultivars of Minnesota natives.

Lilies

Nearly 135 varieties of Asiatic, Oriental, Trumpet, Hybrid, Martagon and Species Lilies.

Peonies

More than 25 peony varieties from multiple vendors will include a variety of colors, sizes and flower forms of this Minnesota classic.

Roses

More than dozen varieties of shrubs roses, including Northern Accents® options.

Woody Vines, Trees, Shrubs

More than 35 varieties, including U of M introductions of apples, grapes and azaleas, plus hydrangeas, lilacs and magnolias.

Zone 5 Plants

Get adventurous with perennials, trees and shrubs that are tender in Zone 4, but may survive if you're in Zone 5.

Hostas

More than 80 varieties of hostas ranging from 8" to 29" tall.

Minnesota Natives

More than 80 options grown by the Arboretum’s Plant Conservation Program and other native-specialty nurseries.

Herbs

More than 30 varieties, including annuals, perennials, tender perennials and biennials.

Veggies

More than 60 types of tomatoes and 35 types of peppers, plus beans, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, eggplant, kale, kohlrabi, leeks, lettuce, melon, onion, peas, squash, pumpkin, sweet potato and Swiss chard.
